Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence involving fantasy characters and use of bad language. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Puzzle platform adventure in which Abe the Mudokon must return to the factories of Oddworld to save enslaved Mudokons.

Content specific issues

This game features moderate violence involving fantasy characters. Characters can be shot, causing them to flash and cry out. They can also be set alight with flamethrowers, causing them to run about before collapsing. Realistic injuries are not shown and there is little blood. The player's character can be killed by enemies or by traps, which may result in him being impaled or blasted into chunks. If this happens, he simply reappears again at the previous checkpoint. The player's character can also 'possess' certain enemy characters and use them to attack other enemy characters. When the player's character is finished with a 'possessed' character, he can make them explode, resulting in sight of chunks of flesh and bone, although there is no realistic injury detail. Cinematic scenes include a brief close-up of a gunshot wound, a close-up of the central character - unharmed but distressed - after being electrocuted, a character being kicked in the chest, and some people hanging upside down while being electrocuted, without injury detail. The game also features frequent use of bad language ('piss', 'bastard', 'screw' and 'shit').

Brief outline of the game

Players guide Mudokon champion Abe, and his aquatic Gabbit partner Munch, in Oddworld’s third adventure, using special psychic powers, cool power-ups, and other special abilities to deliver payback as they reclaim the last Gabbit eggs on Oddworld, which have been packaged in a can of Gabbiar.

Content specific issues

Violence throughout the game is predominantly mild, with most characters responding audibly to being hit, and stars circling around their heads. However, the player can fight back against the enemy Slig and Slog characters, by knocking them into water where they will call for help until they drown, possessing them until they explode and dropping them in front of industrial fans that will chop them into pieces. A few meaty chunks and bones are shown but no blood or grossly graphical details are depicted. Offensive language is used infrequently but includes the word ‘bastard’.

Brief outline of the game

You're the Stranger, a mysterious bounty hunter on a mission to bag the ultimate prize. And you need that money like no one else because there is something very wrong with your health and the only way to fix it is a very costly operation. However the nature of your illness remains a secret and as you find out during the game, for a good reason. In the dusty, undeveloped wastelands of Western Mudos, cantankerous townsfolk find their settlements besieged by belligerent outlaws. Along comes Stranger, a tall, dark and enigmatic bounty hunter with a mission to capture troublemakers and scoundrels and return them to civilized townships for incarceration. But Stranger is keeping a secret and needs expensive surgery to survive. In his quest to earn enough Moolah, Stranger reluctantly accepts the ultimate bounty from the owner of the Mongo River and suddenly his adventure takes a very different turn.

Content specific issues

Violence consists of the Stranger, a fantasy character, collecting critters with a variety of abilities, to use as live ammo for his crossbow. Using the crossbow, he zaps, webs and traps some of Oddworld’s most wanted felons, turning them in at the Bounty Store to collect the financial reward. Most of the violence is more comical than realistic, with no blood or injuries being shown, but you do see a character being crushed to death by a giant boulder you drop on top of them. Offensive language is infrequently used but includes the words ‘bastard’, ‘piss’, ‘prick’ and ‘shit’.
