Brief outline of the game

Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed its doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a childhood memory, but the owners of 'Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction' are determined to revive the legend and make it as authentic as possible for patrons finding anything that might have survived decades of neglect.

Content specific issues

The overall atmosphere of the game is creepy and unnerving. Eerie sound effects and footsteps can be heard making their way towards the player as the nights progress. The animatronic creatures which stalk you have disturbing designs meant to intimidate. The characters primarily move locations when they are not being looked at and can only be tracked using the CCTV cameras. However, if the player starts to hallucinate, they will begin to see the animatronics walking through the map towards the them. If the player fails to stop the oncoming animatronics, then they will be caught by one of them. In this situation a loud jumpscare where the creatures lunge at the player is triggered. The screen then cuts to black and the player is returned to the main menu.

Brief outline of the game

Stealth-based action game sequel in which the player once again takes on the role of the world’s best assassin, Agent 47.

Content specific issues

Violence is strong and realistic-looking, including shooting, stabbing and strangulation. Blood appears when characters are attacked and bodies remain visible until the end of the level. While the objective of the missions is to eliminate specific targets, the player's character is also able to kill defenceless characters, for example by throwing them off balconies or snapping their necks. Defenceless characters can also be caught by explosions or be crushed by objects. Innocent characters may also be killed as they try to escape. The game does not reward the killing of innocent civilians and such actions do lead to a reduction in your score. There is infrequent use of strong language ('fuck').

Other issues

Although there is no sight of drug use, bricks of cocaine can be used to distract enemies. When the drug is thrown, it lets out dust which can cause other characters to pass out. This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of additional downloadable content, such as new missions. Some some parents or carers may want to be aware of this. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.

There is the frequent use of the sexual expletive ‘fuck’, ‘fucking’ and the infrequent use of ‘cunt’. Violence ranges from non-realistic looking to gross violence, gross injuries sustained by characters include decapitation, dismemberment or being blown up and reduced to unidentifiable chunks, and this is all accompanied by lots of blood effects. A CGI cut scene shows a human character extolling the virtues of his ‘clan’, this is quickly curtailed by him being shot in the head and as a result half of his head explodes, plus lots of blood and gore. He is then seen in a half-seated position without the left portion of his head. One level in the game is based in a casino has all the accepted forms of games of chance, blackjack, poker, roulette, slot machines and a sundry other card games on which the player can place a bet. Although there is no instruction, there is plenty of encouragement.

Other issues

The casino level includes a brothel that is controlled by a ‘Madame’ and consists of several different rooms catering for all manner of tastes. In one room a male prostitute, wearing a pair of boxer shorts, rubs his groin vigorously and from the text it is obvious that he has an orgasm. In another room there is a tethered goat, nothing occurs, but the text provides guidance about the purpose of the goat. When a deal is struck with a prostitute, the scene turns black and there are noises associated with sexual activity.

The strongest examples of violence occur during cut scenes. These include a scene in which a human character is tortured on a rack, while a hot poker is also applied to his body, causing him to scream in pain. Another scene shows a human-like character strapped to a chair with his brain exposed. The brain is then ripped from his head. Violence within gameplay features blood spurts, which are occasionally exaggerated in nature, particularly when stealth attacks are made from behind a character.
