Content specific issues

Other issues

The majority of the violence in the game is realistic in nature towards both human and fantasy characters. Blood appears on impact of attacks and characters stagger back and fall over when taking damage. Advice for consumers

The game was rated PEGI 16 for occasional realistic violence towards human characters; sexual intercourse without visible genitals; erotic nudity and the use of sexual expletives. Not suitable for persons below 16 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

The player takes on the role of Dante, a hybrid born of a demon father and angel mother. Using his powers he must fight through many demonic enemies in the real world and its alternate dimension, Limbo. Ultimately defeating Mundus, the current demon ruler of the world.

Content specific issues

The game is primarily focused on defeating demons, some of which are seen in human form and others are clearly fantasy characters. In order to defeat them the player's character must use an ever increasing arsenal of weapons which range from hand held firearms to large scythes, swords and shrunken. Firearms perform as expected and will kill a human and a fantasy character, all shots that strike the body will create some blood splattering. Bladed weapons will slice or skewer a character, however the violence is tempered and does not go beyond the realistic level. Again, blood splattering is seen when a character is cut or stabbed. The sexual expletive ‘fuck’ and derivations of it are used throughout the game. In a cinematic scene two human characters, male and female, are seen to engage in sexual intercourse, however genitals are not seen. The female character is seen on her hands and knees. The camera angle moves frequently from her face to male character's face. Lots of grunting and moaning. There is also some still imagery in which naked women are seen in provocative poses (breasts and genitals not visible) on a bed with a male character whose body is half covered with a sheet.

Other issues

There is a web address seen on a twitter feed during the game which does belong to a real technology web site
