Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features non-realistic violence in a child-friendly setting or context. Not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Action maze game in which the Bomberman Brothers and his friends must defeat a villain who is determined to destroy the world.

Content specific issues

Violence is unrealistic and only ever aimed at fantasy characters. Characters may recoil when hit and then vanish in a puff of smoke, fly off screen or fall down with stars circling their heads. The setting is child-friendly, with colourful cartoon-style designs. Some boss characters are slightly sinister, although the overall setting and design means they are not disturbing

Other issues

There is use of very mild terms, such as 'heck', 'jerks' and 'dang it'.

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures. Not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Super Bomberman R Online is a free-to-play 'Bomberman' game. It includes game modes such as battle royale for up to 64 players, in which you collect items and fight to stay alive. Other classic game modes are available for smaller groups of players.

Content specific issues

This game features unrealistic combat between fantasy characters. Players control androids which place bombs in order to defeat other androids. The violence is unrealistic and comical, as are reactions to it. Characters blink after they've been hit by explosions and rapidly fly off-screen when defeated. There are some cross-over characters from the 'Silent Hill' series, which are accompanied by character descriptions that are unsuitable for very young children. For example, that one's lips are "dripping with blood".

Other issues

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of a premium version of the game, using real-world money. This unlocks extra characters and the ability to set up private rooms or matches. Some parents or carers may want to be aware of this. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.

Advice for consumers

This game has been rated PEGI 7 because of non-realistic violence in a child-friendly setting or context.

Brief outline of the game

This iteration features similar gameplay to the old school NES counterparts and utilizes a gang of different bombermen in an effort to the defeat the Five Dastardly Bombers. Players are presented with a cartoony maze and can drop bombs within that maze. The objective is to destroy all enemies using the bombs set blast radius. The game’s narrative is tied together using (still) cartoony cut scenes.

Content specific issues

General gameplay is seen from an isometric perspective. Players can use cartoony bombs to defeat a variety of fantastical (child-like) foes. Foes will react to being defeated by falling down and disappearing.

Other issues

The game features a variety of boss fights, some of the bosses look rather intimidating (such as the transformed Dastardly Bombers and the game’s final boss).
