Action adventure game, which is a remake of the first game in the 'Mafia' series, “Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven”, originally released in 2002. The game is set in a recreated 1930s cityscape, in which the player's character becomes involved with the Mafia.

Violence is a strong component of the gameplay, with the player witnessing and engaging in a wide variety of violent acts. These run from beating people to death with baseball bats and tyre irons to gun fights with enemy families. Examples of the strongest violence include a scene in which a man, who is hanging by his wrists, is beaten for information before being executed, and a scene in which mobsters open fire on a restaurant full of innocent diners, killing them all before destroying the place with explosives. Strong language occurs throughout, including 'motherfucker' and 'fuck'. There is also milder bad language, including 'bitch', 'dick' and 'shit'.

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of 'Mafia 2' and 'Mafia 3', which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child.
