Brief outline of the game

No Man's Sky is a stylised, sci-fi adventure that spans entire galaxies all brought to life with procedural generation. Travel through an endless array of increasingly diverse and dangerous star systems, prospecting for rare materials, trading with alien life, populate planets and searching for clues to the meaning of the life

Content specific issues

Players can battle other human-like characters in a space suit. Shooting them with energy weapons does not result in obvious harm. When defeated, they fall down in an unrealistic fashion without any injuries shown. While flying through space, players can engage in combat with hostile alien ships. These battles are typical space shooter dogfights, where laser beams are flying all over the screen. However, you do not see those inside the ships harmed. The player can also harm the non-human creatures living on the planets. However, the violence depicted is unrealistic with no physical injuries or gore.

Brief outline of the game

No Man's Sky is a game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated universe.

Content specific issues

The PVP battles that can take place depict unrealistic, mild violence and there is no emphasis on pain. Humans that are hit, just show the damage dealt by means of numbers floating above the characters model. These human characters (always depicted in full space armour) can take tremendous amounts of hits. When hit, the character will never flinch, there is no pain animation. When their health is depleted, the character will fall down to the floor like a stuffed animal with a minimal rag doll effect. When the above happens to the player, the same death sequence is used in POV mode as in the original version of the game. When the player views their model from the new 3rd person view, he sees his character fall to the floor and the screen fade to black.

Advice for consumers

This game was rated PEGI 7 for mild violence. It is not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

No Man's Sky is a first person, open world survival game. Players take the role of a planetary explorer in an uncharted universe where every planet, animal and event is procedurally generated. The game consists of flying in a spaceship through the galaxy, finding a new planet, exploring/scanning its flora and fauna for new species, mining resources, and setting off towards a new planet. Alien factions roam the galaxy as well. They are either friendly or hostile, based on the player’s actions. The goal of the game is simply to explore the galaxy, charting planets, lifeforms and ecosystems, and uploading them to the galactic database, ‘The Atlas’.
