Brief outline of the game

Borderlands The Pre-Sequel including DLC

Content specific issues

Violence consists mainly of your players shooting at human characters wearing post-apocalyptic clothing or futuristic armour, with a variety of guns. It’s fairly realistic with blood effects and corpses lying about. The worst of the violence happens when, at close range, you shoot at them causing them to explode and meaty chunks and indeterminate body parts go bouncing along the floor. Similarly when a human character is propelled into an industrial grinder and expelled from the spout as a large amount of blood and meaty chunks. There’s also a scene where for no apparent reason a large number of characters, in what appears to be a first aid station are set alight. The characters scream and wave their arms in an attempt to extinguish the flames. Sexual expletives have been bleeped out but it is pretty obvious what is being said thanks to the subtitles, including the words ‘fuck’ and ‘cunt’. Gambling exists in the form of slot machines commonly found in casinos.

Build your own "legitimate" corporation by completing open world missions, acquiring businesses, sabotaging competitors, "re-zoning" land, and shaking down shops for protection money.

Content specific issues

This game contains sustained depictions of death to human-like characters. The vast majority of the missions in the game revolve around causing chaos by killing humans, destroying vehicles and the environment. All the civilian characters who populate the city can also be killed freely. Additionally, certain arcade levels reward the player for killing as many innocent civilians as possible in the shortest amount of time. The violence found throughout the game is non-realistic in nature and shown from a distance against non-detailed human characters. When a character is defeated, they fall to the floor with stars around their head. Their bodies then remain on the floor for a short time before vanishing. No blood or gore is ever shown, regardless of what weapon is being used. This game also features glamorization of crime. Throughout the majority of the game the player controls a CEO who is actively participating in illegal endeavors as a means to gain money and power, with little consequence.
