FINAL FANTASY XVI: Echoes of the Fallen
Square Enix Ltd-
PlayStation 5 - 08/12/2023
Advice for consumers
This game has received a PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This rating has been given because it features graphic violence, violence against vulnerable and defenceless characters, and use of strong language.
Brief outline of the game
DLC for FINAL FANTASY XVI featuring a new area known as The Sagespire and an additional story involving mysterious 'dusk crystals'.
Content specific issues
The base game for this DLC contains depictions of graphic violence towards human-like characters. For example, one scene shows a man’s hands being cut off during a sword fight, causing blood to spurt out of the wounds as his hands fall to the floor. There are also scenes of violence towards defenceless human characters, notably when a sword is pushed into a bound woman and then twisted. Violence is realistic, with use of blood effects and characters screaming and grunting in pain. Some scenes involve threat to child characters, including a blade being pressed to a child's neck and children being hit with rocks. The game also includes use of strong language ('fuck').
Other issues
The base game for this DLC contains a number of scenes which depict characters taking their own lives, usually by slitting their own throats with daggers. There are also scenes of a sexual nature, including characters embracing before or after sex. There is sight of breasts and buttocks but no sight of genitals. There are examples of sexual innuendo, including references to prostitution. This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of paid DLCs, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers, or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.

-
PlayStation Vita - 29/05/2020
Advice for consumers
This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features use of strong language and depictions of erotic nudity. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.
Brief outline of the game
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is a visual novel/strategy RPG hybrid. Hakuowlo, a man with no memories, must find his place in a strange new world and embrace the destiny that awaits him!
Content specific issues
The game contains infrequent use of sexual expletives and mild swearing such as “fuck”, “bastard” and “bitch”. There are multiple scenes where the tone of the conversation takes on a sexual nature that can be quite descriptive, including a scene where a female character joins a male in the bathhouse, with the platonic pretence of assisting him with bathing. During the scene she frequently presses her breasts to his body, and much is made of her washing his genital region. This scene is accompanied by a still image of her naked body, thinly covered by steam and a text box.

Over The Moon Games-
Xbox One - 30/06/2015
Advice for consumers
The game was rated PEGI 12 for frequent realistic violence towards fantasy characters and the use of mild swearing. Not appropriate for persons below 12 years of age
Brief outline of the game
Take on the role of ARID, the artificial intelligence onboard a high-tech combat suit. ARID's program activates after crashing on an unknown planet. The human pilot within the combat suit is unconscious, and it is ARID's duty to protect him at all costs.
Content specific issues
This game is primarily one of survival and in order to do so the player’s character, a robotic combat suit, must destroy enemy droids. This is achieved through the use of a hand held weapon. In some instances the head of the robot will, with a well placed shot, explode. Mild swearing occurs within the game on one occasion. The word ‘bastard’ is seen as on screen text. Although there are references in the game to dead humans, due to the lighting levels in the game, even at the brightest setting the bodies are not discernible.
Other issues
In one scene the player’s character interacts with a dead human body. This is not seen in any detail, however, the character does retrieve the head and hand from the body for later use.
