Brief outline of the game

Re-issue of the 2004 action-adventure game. This instalment is set in 1964, 31 years before the events of the original Metal Gear, and centres on the FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov, sabotage an experimental superweapon, and assassinate his defected former boss.

Content specific issues

This game features strong and graphic violence, including blood splatter when people are shot and throats being cut using knives, during stealth attacks, resulting in sight of blood and gurgling noises from enemy characters. There is also violence towards vulnerable and defenceless characters, including already wounded soldiers being shot in their heads, and a female character being kicked as she lies on the ground. The game also includes a scene of sexual violence in which a man places his hand on a woman's breasts before applying an electric shock. In another scene, a male character grabs the protagonist's genitals through his pants in order to check them. There is use of strong language ('fuck').
