Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence, use of offensive language and sexual innuendo. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

The story of a group of thirteen high school students, spanning across four time periods, and their battle against giant monsters. The students battle against the monsters in their 'Sentinels', giant superpowered military robots.

Content specific issues

During battles, giant robots fight against giant monsters. However, the violence is undetailed and no injury is shown to the human characters, who are inside the robots. There is also violence in the narrative scenes, although it is also non-realistic looking. The only weapon of note is a futuristic handgun which can be used either to kill or stun a character. When fired, electrical sparks surround the character who is being shot. The character either recovers or remains motionless on the ground. When this same gun is used against a ‘Terminator’-style robot, lots of electrical sparks emerge from its chest and the robot drops to the floor. The dialogue contains offensive language, including ‘bastard’, ‘shit’, ‘pissed’, ‘son of a bitch’ and ‘arsehole’.

Other issues

A character travels back in time, from the future, in order to prevent a young boy from growing up to become a ‘mass murderer’. This is achieved by injecting the boy with ‘nanomachines’ that are fired from a gun-like weapon. The nanomachines are used to remove the character's future propensity to violence. When the trigger is depressed, a green flash appears and the boy clutches his chest and falls to his knees. There are no visible injuries and he appears unhurt. Throughout the scene, the character from the future explains why she is doing this and that what she is doing will not harm him.

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence towards fantasy characters. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Players must fight against large orc armies.

Content specific issues

The player's character is human. When attacked, the character makes noises and stars appear around the character's head. However, there are no blood effects or visible injuries. Damage is simply shown by a reduction in the player's health gauge. When defeated, the character limply falls to the ground, disappears and respawns nearby. When fantasy characters are shot they may explode or fall apart, accompanied by blood effects. Although their body parts may roll about on the floor for a short time, this is presented unrealistically, after which the character disappears.

Content specific issues

The most pertinent example is found during a cutscene in which a group of soldiers are attacked by a large alien creature wielding a large axe-like weapon. A number of soldiers are knocked backwards with the hilt of the axe throwing them into walls and other environmental objects. One of the men is then attacked with the blade of the axe which lodges itself in his chest. He screams in pain and a visible wound appears on his chest. The weapon is removed, and the soldier can be heard grunting and gasping for breath. During standard combat, puffs of blood appear on impact of attacks and characters let out pained grunts. When they have been defeated, their bodies limply fall to the floor and small pool of blood can be seen where the body lies.
