Players assume the role of Ichiban Kasuga and gather a group of party members in Yokohama. Over the course of the game, Kasuga and his friends learn different roles in combat, granting them access to new sets of attacks and spells. The group gets involved in the ever-growing yakuza conflicts.
Content specific issues
This game contains frequent depictions of extreme violence towards human-like characters. In one notable scene, a group of prisoners are restrained, one of whom is slashed across the chest with a dagger, causing a deep wound and blood to trickle down his chest. In another scene, a man's eye is gouged out by a rival yakuza member. The scene is graphic, with disturbing visuals and sound. There is frequent use of strong language ('fuck'). The game also features moving images that teach the use of games of chance. Throughout the game, the player has the option to enter a casino-like location and trade money for chips which can then be used to bet on various games such as blackjack.
