When you jump into ponds, lakes or seas (deeper waters), you receive a message “you’ve been knocked out, a day’s rest should get you back up your feet”. A day passes, and you begin outside your house again. This loop also happens when your health points have been depleted. This only happens when you encounter ‘dangerous’ slimes. These slimes can bump to you, or curl up in a ball of spikes. If you don’t have the right tools for these encounters, the slimes can hurt you. As for the slimes themselves, you can’t really harm them. When you throw them in the water, they disappear. When you shoot them in the air, they just bounce when they hit the floor. You can, however, dissolve some slimes with water (or other substances). When this is done, they just disappear in a few drops, leaving behind some crystals or slime essence.

CHUCHEL is a comedy adventure game from the creators of Machinarium, Botanicula and Samorost. Join the hairy hero Chuchel and his rival Kekel as they will be facing numerous puzzles and challenges in their quest to retrieve the precious cherry!

Content specific issues

There is a lot of violence present. However, the violence never leads to suffering or injuries. It is very slapstick-y (The character gets smashed with a hammer causing it to be flat as a stamp, a bomb explodes so all characters have black curly hair). In one level the player can choose to eat a bit of a mushroom, which will trigger a sequence in which the character is “tripping”. There are no references that the mushroom is a drug. In another level, the main characters are held in a laboratory and are given several pills, causing them to deform, to change moods and such. The right pills have to be chosen to solve the level. Here also it is not suggested that these are legit medical or illegal drugs. Lastly there is a scene in which the character presses a switch and the light goes out. When the switch is turned on again a figure of death stands next to the character. He will turn the switch on and off several times only to discover that more deaths will appear. This slightly creepy scene will quickly become comical, when the figures of death begin to laugh at the players character for looking funny.
