Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Role-playing game in which a cursed prince becomes a monster wrangler, creating an army of monsters to take into battle on a quest for revenge.

Content specific issues

Much of the violence during gameplay consists of turn-based battles between monsters. Damage is shown using numbers and results in a loss of health, with characters disappearing when defeated. However, there is also a contest in which human characters engage in hand-to-hand combat, in what is called a 'Festival of Fisticuffs'. The violence here is non-realistic looking, with exaggerated reactions and damage shown as a number value, with no blood effects. There are also some scenes of violence during cutscenes, including a human character being kicked and falling over, although the impact itself is not shown, and a fantasy character attacking a human character with a scythe, although there is no blood and the reaction is exaggerated.

Other issues

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, including two additional dungeons and the ability to open a magic treasure chest once an hour and receive a free gift. The items in this chest are not randomised in nature. Instead, the player works through a list of prizes over time, in order. The prizes include supplies that can be used to scout for monsters more easily. The three paid items of DLC also come with additional costumes. There is a link to the Nintendo eShop, in-game, to purchase these DLC items, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.

Advice for consumers

Brief outline of the game

Action role-playing game in which a swordsman and his companions set out to defeat the Dark Lord, Hadlar, while fighting fantastical creatures and human enemies.

Content specific issues

This game features unrealistic violence during gameplay. When a character is hit, there is an highly exaggerated response, accompanied by a number indicating the damage caused and a reduction in their health meter. The violence is non-realistic and when a character is defeated, they disappear from view. There are no blood effects. However, violence during cutscenes is more moderate, notably when a female character slaps a male character, causing him to recoil and land on the floor. The game also includes use of bad language, including 'bastard'.

Brief outline of the game

Spinoff from the 'Dragon Quest' series, in which players take on the roles of siblings Mia and Erik as they embark on a treasure hunting adventure that takes place before the events of 'Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age'.

Content specific issues

Most violence is against fantasy characters, such as walking skeletons and blobs, and features unrealistic reactions, such as flashes, and no blood or visible injuries. When the human protagonists are hit during battle, they simply slide backwards or flinch. When their life-bar runs low, they begin to flash and make remarks such as "This is bad". If they are defeated, they scream or groan and fall to the ground, where they either die and the level restarts or they may be revived.
