Tom Clancy's The Division
Ubisoft EMEA-
PlayStation 4 - 08/03/2016
Advice for consumers
This game is rated PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for anyone below this age. This rating has been given due to the instances of the summary execution of characters that have no opportunity to avoid the violence. There is also the use of sexual expletives.
Brief outline of the game
A pandemic that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States Government to collapse in five days As a last resort, you are part of a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, known as the "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)", or "The Division" for short. This group is established to combat the threat brought about by the outbreak.
Content specific issues
The gameplay is a mix of open world shooter with survival elements in which the violence is predominantly regarded as moderate and there are sustained depictions of death caused through the use of contemporary military weapons (firearms and explosive devices), although there is no dismemberment. The enemy combatants are similarly equipped, however they also have the use of a great many combatants equipped with flame throwers. In use they will cause a character to be set alight and loud screams are heard with the associated thrashing of arms and legs, there is however no visible damage to the flesh and clothing of the character. The worst of the violence which can occasionally be seen during gameplay and cut scenes are those in which characters are tied up and placed in the kneeling position and shot or stabbed. There is no opportunity for the character(s) to run away. There is the occasional use of the sexual expletive ‘fuck’ and derivations of the word.

As one of the last leaders, you are tasked with rebuilding your homeland and spearheading the final battle for the last resources on Earth
Content specific issues
Game features frequent depictions of violence albeit, this is mostly directed at vehicles and aircraft in which human characters are not seen and therefore is regarded as implied. There are however, occasions when ground troops can be deployed and although small in size they are still recognisable as human. The violence towards the ground troops is directed at a body of troops as opposed to a single character and is seen at a distance and so it is regarded as non-realistic looking. The game also contains the occasional use of the following offensive words: damn, bloody, crap, shit and screw.
