Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This rating has been given because it features graphic violence, violence against vulnerable and defenceless characters, and use of strong language.

Brief outline of the game

Gold edition of the remake of the 2005 action shooter in which government agent Leon S. Kennedy gets more than he bargained for when a rescue mission turns into a life-or-death struggle against a bloodthirsty cult, a gruesome plague, and a malevolent conspiracy.

Content specific issues

This game contains depictions of graphic violence towards human characters. Players encounter human enemies who are possessed by a parasite. These enemies can be completely dismembered and decapitated using different calibres of firearms. There are also examples of violence to vulnerable and defenceless characters. One scene during gameplay depicts a captured police officer tied to a stake. A group of infected then set the pyre alight which causes the man to panic and scream as he is burnt alive. The game also features use of strong language ('fuck') as well as milder terms including 'shit'.

Other issues

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of Weapon Upgrade Tickets, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
