Set in an alternative version of the Middle Ages, in which an army of religious zealots brutally enforce their faith, players take on the role of the Inquisitor, Mordimer Madderdin, as he is sent by the Holy Order to the town of Koenigstein, where he uncovers dark forces.
Content specific issues
Cinematic cutscenes depict graphic violence, in the context of acts of torture performed by fanatics in an alternative version of the Middle Ages. This includes sight of the cutting off of heads and limbs, as well as the use of spiked torture devices on restrained individuals. There is use of blood effects and expressions of pain from the victims. There is also sight of disembowelled and mutilated bodies after acts of violence.
