  • Intellivision Amico - 03/04/2021

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features violence against humans that is not shown but is implied. Not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

The Amico console comes with six pre-loaded games, ranging from an arcade space shooter to a skiing game.

Content specific issues

The game 'Astrosmash' requires the player to control a spacecraft and shoot at incoming meteors and UFOs. When UFOs are hit, they explode into pieces. The player's craft can also be hit with enemy rockets, causing it to explode and disappear. While no injury is shown to the pilot, it is implied that the pilot character is killed when their space craft explodes.

Other issues

The game 'Shark! Shark!' requires players to eat other fish in order to become larger. Swimming into smaller fish causes them to disappear instantly but larger fish require several 'bites' before they are defeated, with damage indicated by numbers. When the fish is defeated, it fades away. If a shark bites the player's fish, the player's fish simply disappears and respawns.

Content specific issues

This game contains frequent depictions of realistic violence towards human characters, as well as sustained depictions of death. The vast majority of violence is inflicted using firearms, such as assault rifles, and explosives, such as grenades. When characters are hit, blood appears and they stagger backwards. When characters are defeated, their bodies limply fall to the floor where a pool of blood builds up around them. The bodies remain visible until the end of the mission. If a large number of enemies are killed in a small area, the bodies begin to pile up and litter the environment. All of the violence is shown from a distant top-down angle and characters appearing quite small on the screen.
