Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features strong violence. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Real time strategy game in which you command various historical civilisations and fight against others.

Content specific issues

There is a cinematic scene in which a man, armed with a large knife, jumps off the roof of a small building to attack a woman. There is a short tussle as she kicks him away. When he lunges again, she shoots him dead with a rifle. No blood or visible wounds are depicted but the scene is presented realistically. Other violence in the game is more moderate in nature, often in the form of 'top down' views of two warring sides, with damage indicated only by health bars. Defeated characters fall to the ground and remain a while before disappearing. It is implied that a spear is stabbed into a man's back by another on horseback, although there is no injury detail.

Other issues

There is sight of multiple dead bodies lying on the floor, but with no blood or injuries visible. Animals can be hit multiple times, in order to harvest resources from them, but they do not respond until they fall over, without any blood or injury detail.

Advice for consumers

Brief outline of the game

Real Time strategy game that contains 27 single player campaigns, and competitive multiplayer mode, all set in ancient history spanning from the Dark Age through the Imperial Age. Players take control of one of 34 civilizations to build up their Empire and conquer their opponents. This is an updated and improved version of the original release.

Content specific issues

This game contains frequent depictions of non-realistic looking violence towards human-like and animal-like characters. The violence in this game consists of units from opposing armies engaging in combat primarily using traditional weapons such as swords, spears and projectiles. The reactions to the violence are unrealistic in nature, as the strikes often do not connect, and no injuries appear on their bodies. When a character has been defeated they let out a pained cry and then quickly fall to the floor. Their bodies then remain on the battlefield for a short time before fading away. This game also contains infrequent use of mild bad language. The word “bastard” can be found in the dialogue.
