Brief outline of the game

Trials of the Blood Dragon is a mixture of arcade style gameplay coupled with Motocross racing.

Content specific issues

This is a blend of two types of game. In the first, the player’s character can ride a motor cycle trials bike (as well as a variety of other wheeled vehicles) in the ‘Trials’ manner, negotiating obstacles and platforms to reach the end of the course. The second method of play permits the player’s character to dismount the bike and infiltrate buildings etc. During either method of play the character can utilise hand held firearms to shoot at enemy characters, when hit characters will cry out and will immediately be enveloped in a purple liquid. When this dissipates the character will have disappeared. The violence seen during gameplay is non-realistic looking. However, in one cut scene a human character is shot with an automatic weapon. Although no blood effects were seen the violence is realistic looking. There is also the frequent use of the sexual expletive ‘fuck’ and derivations of the word.
