tinyBuild GAMES
Release Dates & Platforms:
  • 22/06/2021 - Stadia

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features pictures or sounds likely to be scary to young children, mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to human-like characters, and violence against humans that is not shown but is implied. Not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Multiplayer vehicle crafting game, set in the 'Hello Neighbor' universe, in which four children sneak into an abandoned theme park to find parts for the go-kart they're building, while avoiding the 'neighbor' who lurks in the park.

Content specific issues

This game features scary scenes as players encounter the evil 'neighbor'. These encounters feature ominous music and may scare younger children. There is also mild violence. The violence is unrealistic, as are reactions to it. Hits result in a reduction in health. Defeated characters simply turn into a heap of missing pamphlets. There is no visible harm or injury. Because much of the game is seen from first person perspective, violence against the player's character is often implied rather than depicted.

Advice for consumers

This game is rated PEGI 12 for depictions of non-realistic looking violence towards human-like and animal-like characters. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Compilation featuring the original turn-based strategy game, together with the expansions 'Sid Meier's Civilization Rise and Fall' and 'Gathering Storms', as well as various DLC.

Content specific issues

This game features frequent depictions of non-realistic violence towards human-like and animal-like characters. The player can attack members of opposing civilizations by clicking on them to trigger an attack. The characters show little or no reaction to the violence. Bright lights appear when characters are hit and numbers indicate the amount of damage inflicted. When characters are defeated, they fall to the floor and fade away, with no sight of blood or gore. Animals can also be attacked. For example, when a horse-riding warrior is defeated the horse falls over then runs away. Again, no injury is shown. In later stages of the game, battleships and tanks can engage in battle, resulting in them exploding into flames. Cities can also be attacked, leaving behind rubble and clouds. It is implied that people in the vehicles and cities have been killed, although no detail of this is shown.

Brotherhood United

Eastasiasoft Limited
Release Dates & Platforms:
  • 20/07/2021 - PlayStation Vita

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for anyone below this age. This rating has been given because it features graphic violence against a vulnerable and defenceless character. Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Action platform game in which players kill members of a rival gang while rescuing captured members of their own gang.

Content specific issues

There is graphic violence in a cinematic scene in which a restrained man is shot in his head. The impact of the bullet causes the head to explode with a large blood splatter. Violence during gameplay is less graphic. Characters may be shot using a variety of weapons, including firearms, rocket launchers and explosive devices. When characters are hit, blood effects appear. When defeated, characters fall to the floor, where their bodies remain until the end of the level.

Other issues

The player's character is able to drink beer, which increases their health status.

A retelling of the anime, 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba', in which Tanjiro faces demons in order to rescue his sister and turn her back from a demon into a human.

Content specific issues

The player's character must battle against both human-like and demon characters, using a sword and other abilities. Blows result in flashes of light and characters moving exaggerated distances. There are occasional spurts of blood, as well as reductions in health. When defeated, characters fall to the ground where they may disintegrate. Cut scenes include stronger violence, including a sequence in which it is implied that a character is decapitated, although the process of cutting is not shown. After the violent act, the severed head is seen and continues to speak. There are no pain noises, blood effects or gore. In another scene, a character holds a sword to his own neck but the scene cuts away before anything is shown.

Release Dates & Platforms:
  • 23/06/2021 - PlayStation Vita

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features sustained depictions of bloody violence in an arcade setting, as well as use of strong language. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Arcade-style action game in which the player's unit of cyborgs fights against hordes of aliens and mutants.

Content specific issues

This game features sustained sequences of violence, shown in top-down view and with retro graphics. Players must fight their way through various levels featuring alien creatures and mutant humans. Responses to being hit are generally unrealistic, with flashing effects, although it is possible to dismember enemies, exposing their insides. There are copious blood effects, although gory detail is limited because the violence is depicted from a distance. There is sight of dead bodies throughout the game, some with visible injuries. However, they are shown from a distance so there are no graphic details. There is use of strong language ('fuck'), as well as milder terms including 'bitch', 'whoreson', 'piss', 'bastard', 'bloody' and 'goddamn'.

Other issues

There is some nudity, in a non sexual context.

There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension

Draw Me A Pixel
Release Dates & Platforms:
  • 30/04/2021 - PC

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features pictures or sounds likely to be scary to young children, mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to human-like characters, and non-realistic looking violence towards characters which, although human, are not very detailed. Not suitable for persons under 7 years of age.

Content specific issues

This game features some scenes that younger children may find scary. For example, one villain appears as a dark cloud with menacing eyes. In another sequence, a man is electrocuted when he spills liquid on his router and is then chased by his vacuum cleaner. The game also includes some mild violence during pixelated mini-games, including spacecraft shooting at aliens, medieval sword fights, skeletons being blown up and floating people being hit with a fist, causing them to say "Ouch". There is no sight of blood or injuries and defeated characters usually disappear in a flash or a puff of smoke.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey

Frontier Developments PLC
Release Dates & Platforms:
  • 19/05/2021 - PC

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features sustained depictions of violence. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

DLC for the game Elite Dangerous, which allows players to disembark from their spacecraft or ground vehicle to explore or engage in combat on foot.

Content specific issues

The player’s character can engage in combat with other characters using a variety of handheld weapons and tools, including guns, rockets and explosive devices. If enemy characters are hit outside, this causes damage to their body shield. When the shield is destroyed, the character dies inside their spacesuit. If enemy characters are hit inside buildings and other structures, death is quicker because of the absence of a shield. The violence is not realistic looking and there is no blood or injury detail.

Other issues

In line with the original game, there is implied violence during space combat, with space ships shooting at each other and exploding after continued fire. There is no sight of injury to human characters in these space-based scenes. There is also infrequent use of bad language ('bastard', 'shit' and 'piss').
